1. Eat these vegetables that melt stomach fat!

 

I bet you didn't know there is a specific class of vegetables that contain very unique phytonutrients that fight against stubborn belly fat.

 

It has everything to do with a nasty chemical that is quite literally everywhere - on your food, in the air your breathe, in the plastics you use, and household cleaners sitting in your kitchen. These harmful chemicals are known as Xenoestrogens and they FORCE your body to store MORE belly fat

 

So here's where this specific class of vegetables comes in handy…

 

One of the cool tricks that I teach my clients that hire me for nutritional counseling, is the use of cruciferous vegetables to help fight against stomach fat.

 

Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, bok choy, cabbage, etc. contain very specific and unique phytonutrients such as indole-3-carbinol (I3C) that help to fight against these nasty compounds…  You don’t have to eat them by the pound, but start adding them to your diet on a regular basis and you will see your stomach start to shrink , plus your energy levels will improve.

 

I've really learned to like brussells sprouts in the last year too... Melt a little grass-fed cheese on them and some garlic and they're great!

 

2. Eat these "fatty" foods that burn fat AND help you look & feel younger!

 

Coconut milk and oil are great sources of a healthy type of saturated fat called medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), including a component called lauric acid, which is a powerful nutrient for your immune system, and is lacking in most western diets.  In addition, MCTs are readily used for energy by the body and less likely to be stored as bodyfat compared to other types of fats.

 

Even though avocados are typically thought of as a "fatty food", they are chock full of healthy fats!  Not only is this fruit (yes, surprisingly, avocados are actually a fruit) super-high in monounsaturated fat, but also full of vitamins, minerals, micro-nutrients, and antioxidants.

 

Nuts also help to maintain good levels of fat burning hormones in your body as well as helping to control cravings so that you eat less calories overall, even though you're consuming a high-fat food.  My favorite healthy nuts are pecans, pistachios, almonds, macadamias, and walnuts, and by eating them in variety, you help to broaden the types of vitamins and minerals and also the balance of polyunsaturated to monounsaturated fats you obtain.

 

3. Stop doing workouts that make you age faster and destroy your energy!

 

Intense workouts are great.  Intense workouts can make you lose weight quickly and increase your energy levels.

 

But when you pair an intense workout with a LONG workout, you get the OPPOSITE .  Yes, you may see results, but if you continue you will age faster, pound your joints into dust, and your energy will drop – especially when paired with a super-low calorie diet program.

 

This includes cardio.  I’m sure you’ve heard that long, moderate cardio is not the best for weight loss.  You will get better results by focusing on short, yet intense workouts that activate your fat-burning hormones.  Cardio CAN work…but you can also get from New York to Los Angeles in a covered wagon.  Why go slow when you can fly and enjoy the ride?

 

4. Stop blaming your age and hormones!

 

If you’ve paid attention to radio or television commercials lately you’ve noticed an increase in supplements designed to boost hormones in men & women.  They use flashy, medical-sounding buzzwords, & tell you the reason you’re fat, weak and have no sex drive is because you’re over 30 and your hormones are in the gutter.  Is that true, or did something besides age cause them to decrease?

 

Too much cardio, too many processed foods, and yo-yo dieting all lead to a decrease in hormones like testosterone and growth hormone…and this effects ladies too.  It’s NOT just a man’s problem.
