Hey, it's Mike G. again with the 3rd Super-Affiliate Education Lesson from TruthAboutAbs.com
In Super-Affiliate Lesson #1 and Super-Affiliate Lesson #2 , I talked about all sorts of pay-per-click (PPC) strategies using the power of the "content" network within google adwords, keyword strategies and LOTS more.
If you noticed in lesson #2, I deleted the section about using masked/forwared domains for adwords. This is because that method no longer works in adwords.
However, In this lesson, I'd like to explain how you CAN leverage the power of using a forwarded domain to promote the Truth about Abs as an affiliate. By "forwarded domain", I simply mean buying a new domain in a place like godaddy for as cheap as $8 or $9, and forwarding that domain to your clickbank affiliate hoplink. This gives you an easy domain to use in any offline or online methods of promotion.
The Power of the Forwarded Affiliate Domain
Think about it this way... once you get a domain to run your affiliate link through, you now own your very own website which you can advertise ANYWHERE online or offline and you will make 75% of every sale that comes through your domain. Having your own domain allows you to advertise in LOTS of new ways that you wouldn't be able to advertise some ugly looking affiliate link.
Think about it... let's say you had a good friend that could sell you cheap billboard space on a local highway. Or maybe it's not a billboard space, but a sign on a window of a store that you own, or any sign that will get eyeballs anywhere... or even a newspaper ad...
Which of the below ads do you think people would actually be able to remember and either write down or type into their cell phone to check out the website (aka your affiliate link)...

Pretty obvious huh! Nobody is ever going to remember that first ads URL... but the 2nd billboard ad uses such a simple domain that almost anybody could remember that one! And all you have to do is using domain forwarding in your domain registrar to redirect that domain through your affiliate link. Hey, if you have the budget to test something like this, it could be a big hit! May be a crazy idea, but the most outlandish ideas many times are the best. The most successful entrepreneurs have BALLS to try stuff like this. I'd be willing to bet that with the right call-to-action on a billboard, and the right simple domain, and if you can get a nice discounted billboard ad on a highly noticeable spot, this method might stand a chance of working.
More Ways to Harness the Power of the Forwarded Domain
Like I mentioned, you want to choose a nice sounding and easy to remember domain so that you can use this domain in any places offline or online that you can think of, and if you pique people's curiosity, you want them to be able to remember that domain name. And that domain forwards through your affiliate link, so that is how you make the commissions.
Ok, now that you own your very own domain to advertise in any way you want for the Truth About Abs, let's start talking about a few options. Since most article directories, craigslist, forums, and lots of other websites don't allow blatant affiliate links, you can now get around that with your forwarded domain, since it simply looks like a normal web URL instead of an affiliate link.
Here are a few options you can start experimenting with your forwarded affiliate domain:
- free article directories (best rankings come from ezinearticles.com for organic traffic, but article directories in general are not as powerful anymore after google's recent 2011 update)
- forums
- craigslist
- facebook posts
- offline billboards (highways, etc)
- offline newspaper ads (this can be big and scaleable if you can find the right combination that works)
- offline magazine ads (again, very big and scaleable if you find what works)
- other offline places (use your imagination... think outside the box... what locations would people be hungry for fitness info to lose fat and get six pack abs... health food store, the gym, other places that you can put up flyers or posts)
- within a video on youtube
- squidoo.com lenses
- hubpages.com
- yahoo answers (long tail keyword phrases as the title of the page tend to get great rankings in SE's)
- and many more!
This has gotten a bit long for today, but I'll get back to you soon and go into more detail on each of the opportunities above to market your affiliate domains. There is TONS of traffic available out there for this niche! With a little creativity and a little work on diversifying your traffic sources, you can tap into a huge amount of traffic and make an entire living just out of this one niche.
If you're someone who's doing affiliate marketing "on the side" and still working at a day job...keep in mind that I was in your shoes a few years ago. The day that I had created enough financial freedom as an internet marketer to walk away from my day job and be my own boss was probably the most exciting and rewarding day of my life... and there's no reason you can't do it also.
Think about it... if you're working a $60K/year salaried job and want to build your affiliate income to the level where you're comfortable quitting, all you need to do is generate $165 per day on average in profit ($165/day X 365 days/yr = approx $60K) to equal the same income as your job. That's fairly easy if you've followed the techniques I've laid out in some of these lessons. The cool thing is that once you get out of that J.O.B that's draining your time, you free up all kinds of new time to devote to your internet marketing, and your online income doubles, triples, even quadruples in no-time flat.
Another thing: Remember to think BIG... I know it can be hard to think big when you're not even making $100/day yet as an affiliate... but I can tell you that the bigger you think and the more action you take, the more $$ you will make. Keep in mind that if you start to do some of these techniques right and multiply those efforts, there is no reason you can't make over $1000/day JUST from selling my product alone. That's not unattainable... you'd only need to make about 33 sales/day of TruthAboutAbs packages to make $1000/day... some of my affiliates are doing a LOT more volume of sales than that!
